Itinerary of One Day Field Trip in Mekong River and Silk Island (Koh Dach)

08.00 am. Pick up GMSARN group at Hotel Cambodiana and De Art Hotel
08.20 am. Boat Departs from Dock Area to Shrimp Island (Local Fruit, Snacks and Water Served)
10.30 am. Boat Arrives Shrimp Island
- Visit Pagoda named “Phreak Bongkorng”
- Visit Silk Centre including seeing how silk is made and shopping locally Souvenirs
12.00 pm. Boat Departs for Silk Island with Lunch Served on the boats.
1.00 pm. Boats arrive at Silk Island
- Walk on the beach area and take group photos
- Horse Carts will take us tour into the village
The village on Silk Island is typical of many rural Cambodian villages, with houses built up high on stilts. You will see people underneath the houses, weaving silk on hand looms and dying it vibrant colors. See how the silk is transformed from a cotton wool-like texture into thread on homemade spinning wheels made from bicycle parts. Try using the looms to weave the silk into distinct Ikat patterns, or wander the village and meet the locals.
02.00 pm. Boats depart Silk Island back to Phnom Penh City
03.00 pm. Arrive Dock Area at Phnom Penh and Return to Hotels
03.10 pm. Arrive Hotels
05.00 pm. Pick up GMSARN group at Hotel Cambodiana and De Art Hotel for Dinner at Tonle Bassac II Restaurant
08.30 pm. Back to Hotels
