CONFERENCE PURPOSE

With the fast growing economy and population in GMS region, the energy security, environment, and climate change are of great concern. The importance of developing “smart energy, environment, and communities” based on the use of green technologies for local energy supply and demand-side management combined with smart grid will become increasingly relevant to the region’s growth. In addition, decentralized energy systems, together with microgrids, can provide opportunities for deploying renewable energy resources and expanding access to clean energy services to many of GMS’s remote communities. The aim of this GMSARN2015 is to focus on smart and sustainable energy, environment, and community development in the GMS countries to transform its future. To address these critical issues, the International Conference 2015 on “Smart and Sustainable Energy, Environment and Communities Development in GMS” is a three-day platform for knowledge dissemination by a diverse group of researchers and participants. The rationale of the GMSARN 2015 is to initiate and stimulate international discussion and enhance research networking. The conference can be used as a platform on a regional and global level. Thus, it can contribute to sustainable development, and solve trans-boundary issues related to energy, environment and social development. The GMSARN International Conference is a multi-disciplinary conference which is problem oriented focus. In this aspect, GMSARN Conference is unique hosting a wide range of disciplines that would generate shared solutions to existing problems, regionally and globally. In addition, the conference aim is to provide a forum to disseminate the research and development findings on various sustainable development in the GMS. It is also envisaged that the conference will be able to generate shared solutions beneficial to the GMS and the findings and recommendations should also be useful for GMSARN education and research programs.
