Conference Purpose

The Mekong River is one of the international rivers passing through six countries – Cambodia, Yunnan & Guangxi of the People’s Republic of China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. With the increasing population in a fast-growing economy in GMS, innovative energy, environment, and development are of great important. In particular, innovative ecosystems would be required for sustainable development by applying innovative technology, invention and policy rendering smart solutions for better life.

The aim of this GMSARN 2016 is to focus on innovative energy, environment and development in GMS for sustainability in a knowledge based economy. They are required to shift the GMS to the new paradigm. To address these critical issues, the International Conference 2016 on “Innovative Energy, Environment, and Development in GMS” is a three-day platform for dissemination innovative knowledge by a diverse group of researchers, and participants.

The rationale of the GMSARN 2016 is to initiate and stimulate international discussions and enhance research networking for sharing new solutions. The conference can be used as a platform at regional and global levels. Therefore, the conference will address trans-boundary issues related to energy, environment and development. In this aspect, GMSARN conference is uniquely hosting a wide range of various disciplines that would generate shared solutions to common problems. In addition, this conference provides a forum to disseminate the research and findings on various innovative and sustainable developments in GMS. It is also envisaged that the recommendations will benefit GMS education and research programs.
